COVID SAFETY ENTRY GUIDELINES

8-9 June 2022 | NEC Birmingham

Maintec

Working together to protect us all

We cannot wait to welcome you to Maintec 2022.

Your safety and that of all our exhibitors, partners, visitors, contractors and staff is our highest priority.

We are working closely with the NEC, who have been in constant contact with senior government officials and local health authorities throughout the pandemic, to create a controlled, safe and clean environment to do business and we fully comply with government guidance on managing the risk of COVID-19.

For enhanced safety, and peace of mind, the NEC has added some additional measures and we ask everyone in attendance to adhere to our COVID Commitment which outlines the measures in place before, upon arrival and during the events, to ensure you can attend with confidence.

Register now to start planning your attendance and help us to deliver the best possible experience and enable us to manage the logistics of the event.

Full details of the NEC Venue Protect measures can be found here
The NEC visitor requirements and advice are outlined here.

Our COVID Commitment

We want to make it as easy as possible for anyone to attend Maintec, and we will use a common-sense approach to ensure you can visit the events with confidence.

1) All attendees must be prepared to show proof of either

a) NHS COVID Pass via the NHS App (NB This is different to the NHS COVID-19 Test and Trace app).It is advised individuals apply no later than 48 hours before attending their event to allow for the application to be processed in time.

OR

b) Proof of immunity shown by a positive PCR test result for COVID-19, lasting for 180 days from the date of the positive test and following completion of the self-isolation period.

OR

c) Lateral flow or PCR negative test results text or e-mail, received within 72 hours prior to attending the event. However, we would encourage visitors to complete their test within 48 hours as some organisers/promoters may request the shorter timeframe.

If visitors would prefer not to use the app or do not have a smartphone they can obtain a NHS COVID Pass letter (proving vaccination status only) by calling 119 or visiting the NHS website. Visitors with a medical exemption should advise a member of staff during the checking process.

2) All attendees must agree NOT to attend if they answer YES to any of the following questions

  • Are you feeling unwell, including a high temperature, new continuous cough and a loss of, or change to, your sense of smell or taste?
  • Are you currently required to isolate following a visit to an area or country where quarantine is required upon return?
  • Have you been told to self-isolate by a government test and trace service?
  • Is anyone in your household suffering with COVID-19 symptoms?
  • Have you been in close contact with anyone who has COVID-19 or anyone who has been showing symptoms?

3) All attendees must agree to leave immediately should they develop COVID-19 symptoms during the event.

4) All attendees must agree to be considerate to those around them at all times and respectful of all our Safety measures at the show.

If you do not agree to adhere to the Maintec COVID Commitment please email covidqueries@nineteengroup.com

Safety Measures within the Show

Facemask While face masks will no longer be mandatory, we encourage visitors, exhibitors and staff to take personal responsibility and to wear a face-covering in any situation which is crowded or while in close proximity to other people, including in workshops or seminar theatres. We do however recognise that there are circumstances preventing people from wearing a face covering and, being mindful and respectful of this, staff will not challenge or ask for evidence from visitors who advise that they cannot wear a face covering or who make the personal choice not to. We hope that all will be equally respectful.

Print at home

All attendees will be asked to print their badges at home in order to minimise queues and contact, in the registration areas.
Ventilation The NEC mechanical ventilation is controlled by the NEC’s Building Management Systems to monitor air quality and other parameters. In line with current Government guidance, the NEC has recommissioned the ventilation plant to maximise fresh air rates and where appropriate upgraded the filters to NHS hospital standards.
Restaurant All restaurants and cafes are set up to minimise contact points, this includes accepting only contactless payments for a safer and speedier service. The venue has installed protective screens across all outlets and staff will continue to wear face coverings.
Cleaning Frequent and thorough cleaning of public areas, toilets and touchpoints around the venue
handwash Hand sanitiser and/or handwashing facilities will be provided throughout the venue. We recommend you bring your own supply as well.
extra toliets Additional toilets will be available to minimise queues
Outdoor space The NEC has outdoor space opposite the main entrance as well as by the Lakeside. You can gain readmission to the show with a wristband on departure.
